Hall Farm Junction
Class 315 train approaching
what was Hall Farm Junction at North Access Road alongside St. James'
Park. August 2009
The earth used for the emabankment along this section of line was that dug from the cutting around the Vestry Road area. |
This is the track bed of Hall Farm Curve. (highlighted). Lea Bridge Station is about half a mile to the left, and St. James' Street about three quarters of a mile to the right. It is along this trackbed that the first passenger train ran into Walthamstow on 26th April 1870. It is hoped that this curve will be re-instated along with Lea Bridge Station, so that a sevice can be introduced from Chingford to Stratford via Lea Bridge ready for when Stratford links to the Channel Tunnel and the 2012 Olymic Games. |
